Commonwealth Coast Football Athletes of the Week #11

Offensive Player of the Week

Alex Corvese, Curry (Sr., QB)

Senior quarterback Alex Corvese (Cranston, R.I.) closed out the first-year of CCC Football with a huge game. He completed 25 of his 33 passes for a 75.8 percent completion percentage with five of his attempts resulting in scores. He also threw for 347 yards and rushed for 31 in Curry’s 37-20 win over Salve Regina.


Defensive Player of the Week

Ricky Montalvo, Western New England (Fr., LB)

Freshman linebacker Ricky Montalvo (Rocky Hill, Conn.) led the Western New England defense with 10 tackles in their regular-season finale against Nichols. Three of those tackles were for a loss including two sacks for a combined total of 15 yards.


Offensive Rookie of the Week

Riley Shanley, Curry (Fr., TE)

Freshman tight end Riley Shanley (Simsbury, Conn.) made the most of his three receptions in Endicott’s 38-0 win over Becker. Two of his catches were for touchdowns, including one for eight yards and another for 18. In total he had 31 yards on the day.


Defensive Rookie of the Week

Erich Keutmann, Western New England (Fr., Rover)

Freshman Erich Keutmann (Washingtonville, N.Y.) recorded five tackles in Western New England’s CCC Football victory over Nichols on Saturday (Nov. 11). Two of those tackles were for a loss including one sack. Keufmann also picked off a pass and returned it for 29 yards.


Special Teams Player of the Week

John Glaser, Endicott (So., K)

Sophomore kicker John Glaser (East Moriches, N.Y.) was perfect in the kicking game during Endicott’s 38-0 CCC Football victory against Becker. He scored eight points converting his one field goal attempt, a 25-yarder, and all five extra point tries. He also produced 354 yards on seven kickoffs in the contest.



Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) is a single-sport football conference operating under the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) umbrella. The league has been in operation since 1965 (formerly as the New England Football Conference (NEFC)). The league currently consists of six members – Becker, Curry, Endicott, Nichols, Salve Regina, and Western New England. Membership will increase to seven in 2018 with the addition of the University of New England. Husson will join the conference in 2019.
