Offensive Player of the Week

Jake Kelleher, Salve Regina (So., QB)

Sophomore quarterback Jake Kelleher (Hopkinton, Mass.) got the Salve Regina football season off to a strong start. Kelleher led the Seahawks offense to a 27-21 come-from-behind victory against Worcester State, contributing three touchdowns through the air. He threw for 175 yards, while rushing for 73 more.

Defensive Player of the Week

Matt Sylvia, Salve Regina (So., DB)

Sophomore defensive back Matt Sylvia (East Greenwich, R.I.) was solid in the Salve Regina backfield as the Seahawks' defeated Worcester State, 27-21, on Saturday. Sylvia made four tackles (three solo, one assisted), pick off a pass, and broke up another in the victory.

Offensive Rookie of the Week

Brian Peters, University of New England (So., QB)

University of New England quarterback Brian Peters (Darien, Conn.) completed 60 percent (21-for-35) of his passes including one of a touchdown in the varsity debut for Nor'easters football. He had a 121.8 efficiency rating, passing for 242 yards. His longest pass of the night was a 38-yarder. His touchdown pass was the first score in program history.

Defensive Rookie of the Week

Keegan Stanton-Meas, University of New England (Fr., LB)

Freshman Keegan Stanton-Meas (Portland, Maine) was a defensive standout in the University of New England's first-ever varsity contest. Stanton-Keas recorded eight tackles (seven solo, one assisted), including one tackle that went for an 11-yard loss. He also disrupted the passing game, breaking up two passes.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Jake Wood, Nichols (Jr., RB)

Junior Jake Wood (Whitinsville, Mass.) had an impressive 2018 debut by becoming the first Nichols student-athlete to return a pair of kickoffs for touchdowns. His first return came late in the second quarter as he got the Bison on the board with an 84-yard run back. He bested that in the fourth quarter with a 90-yard return for a touchdown, which tied him for the fourth-longest return in program history.

Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) is a single-sport football conference operating under the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) umbrella. The league has been in operation since 1965 (formerly as the New England Football Conference (NEFC)). The league currently consists of seven members – Becker, Curry, Endicott, Nichols, Salve Regina, the University of New England, and Western New England. Husson will join the conference in 2019.
