Offensive Player/Offensive Rookie of the Week

Joey Mauriello, Salve Regina (Fr., RB)

First-year running back Joey Mauriello (Colts Neck, N.J.) ran for a season-best 160 yards and two touchdowns in Salve Regina's 27-18 win over Dean on Saturday (Sept. 15). He averaged 5.5 yards per rush, including a 50-yarder and the scores were his first two of the season. He also corralled two passes for 31 yards in the air giving him 191 all-purpose yards on the day.

Defensive Player of the Week

Tommy Ganley, Western New England (Sr., DB)

Western New England defensive back Tommy Ganley (Delmar, N.Y.) made a key interception in the end zone in the final minute of the Golden Bears' victory over Husson to preserve the 31-28 result. Ganley also recorded six tackles on the day (four solo, two assisted).

Defensive Rookie of the Week

Joshua Salem, Western New England (Fr., LB)

Freshman Joshua Salem (Dracut, Mass.) was a key defensive contributor in Western New England's 31-28 victory over Husson on Saturday (Sept. 15). He made 10 tackles (five solo, five assisted) including two for a loss. He also had a sack that resulted in an eight-yard loss and broke up one pass attempt.

Week #2 - Materrence Holloway, Becker
Week #3 - Joshua Salem, Western New England

     

Special Teams Player of the Week

Andrew Verre, Salve Regina (Sr., K/P)

Senior kicker/punter Andrew Verre (Wethersfield, Conn.) had a strong day in both kicking and punting games. As a placekicker, he accounted for nine points in Salve Regina's 27-18 win. He converted both of his field goal attempts, one from 23 yards and another from 28 yards, and went a perfect 3-for-3 on extra-points. He also punted four times for a total of 155 yards (38.8 yards per punt) and pinned the Bulldogs inside the 20 twice. He also had a tackle to stop a potential breakaway run on a kickoff.

Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) is a single-sport football conference operating under the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) umbrella. The league has been in operation since 1965 (formerly as the New England Football Conference (NEFC)). The league currently consists of seven members – Becker, Curry, Endicott, Nichols, Salve Regina, the University of New England, and Western New England. Husson will join the conference in 2019.
