SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Student-Athlete Advisor Committee (SAAC) will be holding its second annual conference-wide food drive throughout the first half of November. Donations will be accepted from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15.
Members of the conference SAAC decided to continue the conference-wide food drive at their fall meeting, which was held at Western New England earlier this month. This year’s drive was expanded to include the first two weeks of the month allowing more opportunities to collect items.
During last year’s food drive league schools donated more than 4000 food items to various local food pantries and family centers. Salve Regina led all schools with over 1200 items collected.
Similar to last year, each school will be responsible for orchestrating the food drive on their own campus and reporting the count back to the conference office. This year the leaderboard will be updated halfway through the drive on Nov. 8 and again at the end of the campaign.
To learn more about how you can donate, reach out to each respective schools’ athletic department.
