Offensive Player of the Week

Jared Ward, Western New England (Sr., A)

Senior Jared Ward (Littleton, Mass.) was the offensive leader for Western New England this week as the Golden Bears picked up wins against conference foes Roger Williams and the University of New England. He started the week with two goals and two assists against the Hawks, contributing to a 13-6 victory. He then scored four goals and three assists against the Nor'easters bringing his weekly point total to 11.

Mike Mongelli, Salve Regina (Sr., D)

Senior defender Mike Mongelli (Roslyn, N.Y.) helped Salve Regina earn a 15-11 non-conference win over Saint Joseph's (Long Island). He had nine ground balls in the contest and two caused turnovers. He also pitched in on the offensive side of the ball with two goals and an assist.

Rookie of the Week

Mike Bannon, Western New England (Fr., A)

Freshman attack Mike Bannon (Edmond, Okla.) scored three points in each of Western New England's conference wins this week. He opened the week with a hat trick in a 13-6 victory over Roger Williams and followed that up with a three-assist game in a 14-10 win over the University of New England. Overall he had six points on the week and also collected one ground ball.

Hunter Cocks, Western New England (Sr., FOM)

Senior faceoff specialist Hunter Cocks (Walden, N.Y.) won an impressive 80 percent (28-of-35) of his face off opportunities this week as Western New England went 2-0 in conference play. He went 18-for-23 against Roger Williams and 10-for-12 against the University of New England. Cocks was also strong in the ground ball game as he recorded 20 on the week.

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference comprised of nine full member and one associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The conference administers championships in 18 intercollegiate sports.
