CCC Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week #4

Player of the Week

Gretta Hartman, Endicott (Jr.)

Endicott junior Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) led the team to a 3-0 week with victories over Holy Cross and conference foes Curry and Roger Williams. She won at No. 2 singles on Monday (Sept. 16) to clinch the match against the Crusaders. Hartman continued her strong week with an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles and a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles in a 9-0 win Wednesday (Sept. 18) against Salve Regina. Her strong week was completed with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles on Saturday (Sept. 21) against Curry. Her only loss of the week came at No. 1 doubles against Holy Cross as she went 4-1 across all her matches.

Rookie of the Week

Olivia Berler, Endicott (Fr.)

Endicott freshman Olivia Berler (Marastons Mills, Mass.) aided her team to an undefeated week including matches against Holy Cross and CCC opponents Curry and Roger Williams. She won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 singles and 8-1 at No. 3 doubles in a victory over Holy Cross on Monday (Sept. 16). Berler continued to impress with a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles and 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles on Wednesday (Sept. 18) against Salve Regina. Her week ended with a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles on Saturday (Sept. 21) against Curry.

ABOUT THE COMMONWEALTH COAST CONFERENCE

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference comprised of nine full member and one associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The conference administers championships in 18 intercollegiate sports. In 2020, the conference will expand to 10 full members with the addition of Suffolk University.
